An interfolding apparatus and method, utilize, first and second sheet-cutting-and-overlapping arrangements and an in-terfolding arrangement simultaneously mounted and operatively interconnected in a common frame, for alternatively selectively forming a first or a second interfolded pattern having a given fold-ed width, without replacement of components of the interfolding apparatus. The first interfolded pattern is formed from a first stream of overlapped sheets of a first length cut from a web of sheet material fed along a first path extending through the first sheet-cutting-and-overlapping arrangement to the interfolding ar-rangement. The second interfolded pattern is formed from a stream of overlapped sheets of a second length cut from the web of sheet material fed along a second path extending through the second sheet-cutting-and-overlapping arrangement to the interfolding ar-rangement.
Linvention concerne un procédé et appareil dentrepliage utilisant un premier dispositif de découpe et de mise en chevauchement de feuilles et un deuxième dispositif de découpe et de mise en chevauchement de feuilles et un dispositif dentrepliage montés simultanément et raccordés opérationnellement dans un châssis commun, pour former de manière alternée et sélective une première forme entrepliée ayant une largeur pliée donnée, sans remplacement des pièces de l'appareil dentrepliage. La première forme entrepliée est réalisée à partir d'un premier flux de feuilles se chevauchant d'une première longueur coupée provenant d'une bande de matériau en feuille alimentée le long d'une première trajectoire s'étendant au travers du premier dispositif de découpe et de mise en chevauchement de feuilles jusqu'au dispositif dentrepliage. La deuxième forme entrepliée est réalisée à partir d'un flux de feuilles se chevauchant d'une deuxième longueur coupée provenant d'une bande de matériau en feuille alimentée le long d'une deuxième trajectoire s'étendant au travers du deuxième dispositif de découpe et de mise en chevauchement de feuilles jusqu'au dispositif dentrepliage.
