ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A multiple pilot system is shown for ignition of waste gas from a flare burner, provisions being made to reduce or limit the pilots for ignition at the most effective location as determined by the wind direction and further, if desired,by the wind velocity, the reduction in the number of pilots effecting substantial savings of com- bustible gas. Provision is made for emergency supply of gas to the pilots as desired.
