A multi-bladder airlock shaft with bladder valves connected to a common bladder manifold having two independent control valve ports, each control valve having both inlet and exhaust capability for inflation and deflation of the bladders via a mechanical linkage between the valves. There may be one port configured at the end of the shaft journal, and the other port oriented at right angles to the end port, on the face of the journal, with a right angle transfer linkage connecting the two control valves. There may be more than one independent control valve system on a shaft. The individual bladders may have multiple bladder valves for connecting to multiple control valve systems.
