A jack frame includes a jack frame block having a front surface, a pair of side surfaces and a top surface. The front surface has a plug opening with a plug axis along which a plug connector can be inserted to connect to the jack frame block. The front surface is dimensioned to be received in a jack opening in a face plate, and the inner periphery of the jack opening is defined in part by a pair of side walls and a top wall. The top surface of the jack frame block has a first surface portion that extends at a first angle relative to the plug axis of the plug opening in the block's front surface, and a second surface portion that extends at a second angle relative to the plug axis. Either the first or the second surface portion can be aligned with the top wall of the jack opening, so the frame block can be mounted on the face plate with a desired orientation depending on which one of the first and the second surface portions is aligned with the top wall of the jack opening. Engagement members on the frame block are arranged to engage walls of the jack opening when the frame block is mounted in the desired orientation, to limit movement of the frame block relative to the face plate.
Cette invention concerne un boîtier de prise de télécommunications ayant une face avant, une paire de faces latérales et une face supérieure. La face avant comporte une ouverture d'axe donné servant à recevoir une fiche de télécommunications destinée à se connecter aux bornes la prise. La face avant du boîtier est dimensionnée en fonction de l'ouverture ménagée dans la paroi de l'appareil à relier, ladite ouverture étant définie en partie par une paire de parois latérales et une traverse supérieure. La face supérieure du boîtier comporte une première partie faisant un premier angle avec l'axe susmentionné et une seconde partie faisant un second angle avec cet axe. L'une ou l'autre de ces deux parties peut être appuyée contre la traverse supérieure de l'ouverture ménagée dans la paroi de l'appareil à relier, ce qui permet d'orienter le boîtier selon deux angles par rapport au plan de ladite paroi d'appareil à relier. Le boîtier comporte des pattes de verrouillage conçues pour s'accrocher aux parois de l'ouverture ménagée dans la paroi de l'appareil à relier lorsque le boîtier est monté selon l'orientation désirée, ce qui pour effet de limiter les possibilités de déplacement du boîtier par rapport à ladite paroi de l'appareil à relier.
