ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention provides a concentrating method in which a thin stream of particulate material is supported on a multiplicity of spaced projections projecting from an endless belt. The material is moved past at least one device for detecting specific types of particles in the material and then past a suction nozzle which removes the portions of the stream including the detected particles.
