The invention is a multi-purpose icebreaker (10) having main propulsion devices (20, 30) in the front part of the vessel and steering device (21, 22) in the aft part of the vessel. This kind of icebreaking vessel has excellent steering characteristics and it can efficiently and constantly push the ice field. The main propulsion devices at the bow are azimuth propulsion devices (20) or conventional shaft propulsion devices (30). The steering devices (21, 22) are tunnel thrusters (21) or smaller azimuth thrusters (22).
La présente invention concerne un brise-glace polyvalent (10) comportant des dispositifs principaux de propulsion (20, 30) dans la partie avant du navire et un gouvernail automatique (21, 22) dans la partie arrière du navire.
