ABSTRACT A side multiple outlet (SMO) adaptor for attachment to a standard duplex electrical outlet, by removing the cover- plate mounting screw of the duplex outlet, plugging the adaptor into the duplex outlet, and securing the adaptor to the duplex outlet by a longer mounting screw which passes through a centrally-located aperture in the adaptor and engages the threads within the duplex outlet that had previously been engaged by the cover-plate mounting screw. The adaptor may be mounted over the cover-plate or with the cover-plate removed. The adaptor includes an external housing having a front panel, two side panels, a top panel and a bottom panel. The side panels of the external housing have a plurality of apertures extending through the side walls that are designed to accommodate the prongs of an electrical plug. The adaptor also has a back plate on which are mounted the electrical components through which electrical connection is made from the outlet into which the adaptor is inserted or plugged. The multiple outlets are accessed from the side panels of the adaptor.
