Multi-Staqe Centrifugal Compressor Abstract A centrifugal compressor has a relatively rotatable inner and outer elements which defines an annular flow path therebetween, the flow path has a progressively diminishing cross-sectional area from a flow inlet end to a flow outlet end, the flow outlet end has a diameter greater than the diameter of the flow inlet end in the flow path. A portion of the outward curvature is located in the flow path wherein the flow path becomes progressively more radially directed as the flow path approaches the outlet end. Blades form a plurality of compression-diffusion stages within the portion of outward curvature of the flow path.
