A multi-stage method for diagnosing an immunologic food sensitivity or intolerance in a companion animal. Firstly a saliva or blood spot or other non-serum bodily fluid sample is collected. The screening the saliva or blood spot or other non-serum bodily fluid sample detects the presence of at least one of IgA or IgM antibody to a particular food ingredient or composition. An immunologic food sensitivity or intolerance based on the presence of the antibody is diagnosed. Secondly a blood sample is collected and serum from the sample is screened to detect the semi-quantitative or quantitative presence of at least one of an IgA, IgM or IgG antibody or immune complex to a particular food ingredient or composition. An immunologic food sensitivity or intolerance based on the presence of the antibody or immune complex is diagnosed. Thirdly, a biologically active nutrient in relation to the animal from a molecular dietary signature is determined. The molecular dietary signature for the animal is a variation of expression of a set of genes, proteins or metabolites which may differ for the genotype of each animal.
L'invention concerne un procédé en plusieurs étapes pour diagnostiquer une sensibilité ou une intolérance immunologique à un aliment chez un animal de compagnie. Premièrement, une tache de salive ou de sang ou un autre échantillon de fluide corporel non sérique est recueilli. Le dépistage dans la tache de salive ou de sang ou un autre échantillon de fluide corporel non sérique détecte la présence d'au moins un anticorps IgA ou IgM contre un ingrédient ou une composition alimentaire particulier. Une sensibilité ou une intolérance immunologique à un aliment fondée sur la présence de l'anticorps est diagnostiquée. Deuxièmement, un échantillon de sang est prélevé et le sérum de l'échantillon est soumis à un dépistage afin de détecter la présence semi-quantitative ou quantitative d'au moins un anticorps IgA, IgM, ou IgG ou d'un complexe immun contre un ingrédient ou une composition alimentaire particulier. Une sensibilité ou une intolérance immunologique à un aliment basée sur la présence de l'anticorps ou du complexe immun est diagnostiquée. Troisièmement, un nutriment biologiquement actif en relation avec l'animal d'après une signature moléculaire associée au régime alimentaire est déterminé. La signature moléculaire associée au régime alimentaire pour l'animal est une variation de l'expression d'un ensemble de gènes, de protéines ou de métabolites qui peuvent différer selon le génotype de chaque animal.
