- 17 - MULTIBEAM ANTENNA WITH REDUCED SIDELOBES Abstract The present invention relates to a multibeam antenna feed arrangement comprising a plurality of feeds, each feed being capable of receiving a different input signal and including a separate waveguide means connected between the feed and an associated local transmitter or receiver. The feed arrangement further comprises cross- coupling paths disposed between predetermined pairs of the waveguide means for (a) coupling out a portion of the signal propagating in a waveguide means associated with a first one of the feeds, (b) adjusting the amplitude and phase of the coupled-out signal in a predetermined manner, and (c) introducing the resultant adjusted signal into the waveguide means associated with a second one of the feeds where the sidelobe of the second one of the feeds exceeds a predetermined sidelobe level in the direction served by the first one of the feeds thereby reducing signal interference in the second one of the feeds. For N feeds, where N is an even number, only N cross-coupling paths may be needed. Where N is an odd number, only N-1 cross- coupling paths may be needed.
