A multi-color image forming material used for transferring the laser beam irradiation area of an image forming layer onto the image receiving layer of an image receiving sheet by applying a laser beam to record a multi-color image, wherein a ratio between the optical density and film thickness of the image forming layer of each thermal transfer sheet is at least 1.50, the recording area of a multi-color image on each thermal transfer sheet is at least 515 mm × 728 mm, the resolution of an image transferred onto the image receiving layer of an image receiving sheet is at least 2400 dpi, the longitudinal thermal shrinkage and the lateral thermal shrinkage of an image receiving sheet are both up to 1%, and the lateral thermal shrinkage of an image receiving sheet is smaller than the longitudinal thermal shrinkage; and a multi-color image recording method using this multi-color image forming material.
La présente invention se rapporte à une matière de formation d'image multicolore permettant de transférer la zone irradiée par faisceau laser d'une couche de formation d'image sur la couche de réception d'image d'une feuille de réception d'image par application d'un faisceau laser aux fins de l'enregistrement d'une image multicolore. Le rapport entre la densité optique et l'épaisseur de feuille d'une couche de formation d'image de chaque feuille de transfert thermique est supérieur ou égal à 1,5, la zone d'enregistrement d'une image multicolore sur chaque feuille de transfert thermique représente au moins 515 mm x 728 mm, la résolution d'une image transférée sur la couche de réception d'image d'une feuille de réception d'image est d'au moins 2400 dpi, le rétrécissement thermique longitudinal et le rétrécissement thermique latéral d'une feuille de réception d'image sont tous deux inférieurs ou égaux à 1 %, et le rétrécissement thermique latéral d'une feuille de réception d'image est inférieur au rétrécissement thermique longitudinal. L'invention se rapporte également à une procédé d'enregistrement d'une image multicolore au moyen de cette matière de formation d'image multicolore.
