A multiconductor electrical cable for use in a subterranean wellbore includes at least one electrical conductor surrounded by one or more layers of insulating material. At least one layer of the insulating material includes ethylene propylene diene methylene rubber formed using a stereoregular polymerization catalyst (SEPDM) and/or polyolefin elastomer formed using a stereoregular polymerization catalyst (POE). This insulating material has a higher degree of crystallinity than previous insulation materials, with a higher tear retention and a higher tensile retention and less elongation loss over previous insulation materials, both before and after exposure to hydrocarbons in a subterranean wellbore environment.
Un câble électrique multiconducteur pour trou de forage souterrain renferme au moins un conducteur électrique entouré d'une ou de plusieurs couches de matériau isolant. Au moins une couche du matériau isolant renferme un caoutchouc d'éthylène-propylène-diène-méthylène, formé à l'aide d'un catalyseur de polymérisation stéréorégulière (SEPDM) et (ou) d'un élastomère de polyoléfine, formé à l'aide d'un catalyseur de polymérisation stéréorégulière (POE). Ce matériau isolant a un degré de cristallinité plus élevé que les matériaux isolants antérieurs, avec une plus grande résistance au percement, une plus grande résistance à la traction et moins de perte d'élasticité, par rapport aux matériaux isolants antérieurs, aussi bien avant qu'après l'exposition aux hydrocarbures dans un milieu de trou de forage souterrain.
