ABSTRACT A multicouple temperature probe for in vivo tissue temperature profile measurements is disclosed. The multicouple temperature probe of this invention discloses a calibrated probe which overcomes the problems associated with known probes which can measure tissue temperature to an accuracy of ? 0.1°C under a variety of temperature gradients. The multicouple probe is comprised of a thin elongated flexible casing housing a plurality of thermocouples wherein each of the thermocouples is the junction where copper wire is secured to a single common uninsulated constantan thermocouple wire with each of said junctions extending along the length of said casing.
