In a system for dynamically and remotely providing user interface (UI) display and processing information to a touch panel embedded within a multifunction peripheral (MFP) such as a digital copier having an internal computer for controlling the touch panel, a method that comprises linking the internal computer to an external data communication network having an external remote computer on the network; and upon the inputting of desired selections by a user at the UI and communicating the same over the network to the external computer, providing information from the external computer via the network back to the internal computer that enables dynamically changing or updating the UI display and behavior during run time of the MFP.

L'invention concerne un système de transfert dynamique et à distance d'informations d'affichage et de traitement d'une interface utilisateur (UI) à un écran tactile intégré dans un dispositif périphérique multifonctionnel (MFP), par exemple un copieur numérique équipé d'un ordinateur interne de commande de l'écran tactile. L'invention concerne également un procédé consistant à connecter l'ordinateur interne à un réseau de communication de données externe équipé d'un ordinateur externe à distance et, après l'entrée de sélections désirées par un utilisateur au niveau de l'UI et la communication de celles-ci sur le réseau à l'ordinateur externe, à renvoyer des informations de l'ordinateur externe via le réseau à l'ordinateur interne permettant de changer ou de mettre à jour de façon dynamique l'affichage et le comportement de l'UI pendant la durée d'exécution du MFP.
