MULTIFUNCTIONAL FUEL ADDITIVES ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A product of reaction obtained from the reaction of (1) a hydrocarbyl diol, an aminodiol or diaminodiol, either alone or in combination with other diols, aminodiols or diaminodiols and (2) a reactive acid and/or anhydride derived from the reaction of benzophenone tetracarboxylic dianhydride or its acid equivalent or pyromellitic dianhydride or its acid equivalent and (a) an aminoalcohol, the product of an amine and an epoxide, or (b) an amino alcohol and an amine or (c) mixtures of (a) and/or (b), wherein said product of reaction has long-chain hydrocarbyl groups attached thereto, which improves the low- temperature properties of distillate fuels when added thereto.
