A multifunctional tissue paper product having a combination of good wet strength, flexibility and preferably absorbency. The tissue paper has a wet burst strength of from 175 g to 800 g and a flexibility of from 0.02 to 0.16 gf*cm2/cm. This combination allows the tissue paper to be strong enough for use as a paper towel, yet soft enough for use as a facial tissue.
