The invention pertains to a swivelling coupling assembly for providing a swivellable interconnection between fluid-containing lines. The assembly includes a housing and a retention member for retaining the housing while cooperating with it to allow the housing to swivel therein about at least one axis. The housing may swivel spherically. The housing has a bore for allowing the fluid to flow between the interconnected lines. The assembly also includes at least one male component removably mountable within each bore of the housing to be swivellable therein and to prevent external leakage of the fluid. The male component is connected to one line and has a canalization allowing the fluid to flow between the pair of lines through the assembly. Multifunctional swivel functionality is achieved to reduce the torsion on interconnected lines, during operation with dynamic machinery for instance.
L'invention concerne un assemblage d'accouplement orientable permettant d'établir une interconnexion orientable entre des conduites contenant des fluides. L'assemblage contient un boîtier et un élément de rétention permettant de retenir le boîtier tout en s'associant à celui-ci afin de permettre au boîtier de s'orienter dans l'élément selon au moins un axe. Le boîtier peut être orienté de façon sphérique. Le boîtier comprend un alésage permettant au fluide de s'écouler entre les conduites interconnectées. L'assemblage comprend aussi au moins un composant mâle qui peut être monté de façon amovible dans chaque alésage du boîtier et orientable à l'intérieur de celui-ci afin d'éviter des fuites externes de fluide. Le composant mâle est connecté à la conduite et possède une canalisation permettant au fluide de s'écouler entre les deux conduites au travers de l'assemblage. L'orientation multi-fonction est réalisée afin de réduire la torsion sur les conduites interconnectées, par exemple lors d'une utilisation avec de la machinerie en mouvement.
