Multiguide cylindrical optical conductor for telecommunications cables, comprising a number of optical fibres, each fibre being an elementary cylindrical fibre consisting of a core and cladding. The elementary fibres are all bonded in silica following a fibre drawing operation. The core of each elementary cylindrical fibre (3) has a diameter on the order of 8µ to 10µ, and the cladding has an outer diameter between 25µ and 35µ. The cores of all the elementary fibres (3) either regularly follow the generators of a cylinder in the same axis (13) as the conductor (10), or are parallel to each other and coplanar. In this way, an optical conductor with an outer diameter of 125µ containing six guides with a diameter of 25µ to 35µ can be obtained.
Conducteur optique cylindrique multiguides pour câble de télécommunications, comportant une pluralité de fibres optiques, chacune de ces fibres étant une fibre cylindrique élémentaire constituée d'un coeur et d'une gaine optique, les fibres élémentaires étant toutes liées entre elles par de la silice à la suite d'une opération de fibrage, caractérisé par le fait que ledit coeur de ladite fibre cylindrique élémentaire (3) a un diamètre de l'ordre de 8 µm à 10 µm, que ladite gaine optique a un diamètre extérieur compris entre 25 µm et 35 µm, et que tous les coeurs desdites fibres élémentaires (3) sont, soit situés régulièrement suivant les génératrices d'un cylindre de même axe (13) que ledit conducteur (10), soit parallèles entre eux et coplanaires. on peut obtenir ainsi un conducteur optique de diamètre extérieur 125 µm et contenant six guides dont le diamètre est de l'ordre de 25 µm à 35 µm.
