An oxygen and moisture impermeable multilayer barrier film (10) is provided including a barrier layer (12) comprising a homopolymer of vinylidene chloride or a copolymer of vinylidene chloride and vinyl chloride or methyl methacrylate. The barrier layer is coextruded with or laminated to at least one heat sealable skin layer (14) comprising a thermoplastic polyurethane, a substantially linear copolymer of ethylene and an .alpha.-olefin, or a homogeneously- branched linear olefin resin to form the barrier film. The multilayer film may be used for reusable ostomy bags (24), for systems for the transdermal delivery of drugs, and for heat sealable bags used in packaging.
Un film-barrière (10) multicouche imperméable à l'oxygène et à l'humidité comprend une couche-barrière (12) constituée d'un homopolymère de chlorure de vinylidène ou d'un copolymère de chlorure de vinylidène et de chlorure de vinyle ou de méthacrylate de méthyle. La couche-barrière est coextrudée avec une couche-pellicule thermoscellable (14) ou laminée sur au moins une couche-pellicule thermoscellable (14) qui comprend un polyuréthane thermoplastique, un copolymère sensiblement linéaire d'éthylène et d'une alpha -oléfine, ou une résine d'oléfine linéaire ramifiée de manière homogène pour former le film-barrière. Le film multicouche peut être utilisé pour des sachets d'ostomie réutilisables (24), pour des systèmes d'apport transdermique de médicaments, ou pour des sachets thermoscellables utilisés dans l'industrie du conditionnement.
