Novel multilayer composite foils are provided and are composed of at least three layers, comprising an adhesive layer composed of at least one .alpha.-olefin-vinyl acetate copolymer having vinyl acetate content of >= 40% by weight, based on the total weight of the .alpha.-olefin-vinyl acetate copolymer. The said multilayer composite foils are suitable for the packaging of products and for use as protective foil. Production can be achieved by way of blown-film extrusion.
