ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The disclosure describes a multilayer felt band com- prising individual fibers of thermoplastic material, fiber layers of thermoplastic material, fibers impregnated with thermoplastic material or individual fibers coated with thermoplastic material. In at least one layer there are provided channel shaped storage spaces which are determined by bonding places molten together. The walls of the channel shaped storage spaces at least in one layer are at an angle between 0 and 80° with respect to the sur- face of the felt band. Process for manufacturing such a multi- layer felt band which comprises melting out channel shaped stor- age spaces in at least one layer with a radiation beam generated with a light radiation quantum generator. The radiation beam act on a layer of the felt band moving along a rotating roll, the radiation beam is directed tangentially to the surface of the rotating roll at a point where the radiating beam strikes the roll at an angle 0 to 90°.
