A laminate multilayer film substrate for use in the production of banknotes including a first layer and a second layer, which may be the same or different, each comprising at least 50 weight percent of a high density polyethylene having a density of at least .94 g/cc and each being oriented in at least a first direction to a degree which is at least three times greater than the degree of orientation present in a second direction substantially normal to the first direction wherein the second layer is laminated to the first layer so that the first direction of orientation of the second layer is substantially aligned with the first direction of orientation of the first layer.
L'invention se rapporte à un substrat stratifié de films multicouches utilisé dans la fabrication de billets de banque, qui comprend une première couche et une seconde couche, pouvant être identiques ou différentes, chacune d'elles comportant au moins 50 % en poids d'un polyéthylène haute densité ayant une densité d'au moins 0,94 g/cc. Chacune de ces couches est orientée dans au moins une première direction à un degré qui est au moins trois fois plus grand que le degré d'orientation prévalant dans une seconde direction sensiblement perpendiculaire à la première direction, où la seconde couche est stratifiée sur la première couche de telle sorte que la première direction d'orientation de la seconde couche est sensiblement alignée avec la première orientation de la première couche.
