An oxygen and moisture impermeable multilayer barrier film (10) which was free of halogens and which may be produced by coextrusion or lamination techniques was provided. The film provides excellent adhesion between layers, has quietness, odor barrier, and softness characteristics, and provides a heat sealable surface for the fabrication of bags. The barrier film includes a halogen-free barrier layer (12) and at least one heat sealable skin layer (14). The heat sealable skin layer includes either a thermoplastic polyurethane, a substantially linear copolymer of ethylene and an a-olefin having a density in the range of from 0.87-0.92 gm/cc and from 0.01 to 3 long chain branches/1000 carbon atoms along the polymer backbone, a homogeneously-branched linear polyolefin resin, or a blend of an ultra low density polyolefin resin with a copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate.
Un film (10) multicouche, faisant barrière, imperméable à l'oxygène et à l'humidité, est dépourvu d'halogène et peut être produit par des techniques de co-extrusion ou de laminage. Le film possède d'excellentes caractéristiques d'adhésion entre les couches, anti-bruit, anti-odeur et souplesse, et offre une surface thermo-scellable pour la fabrication de sachets. Le film barrière comprend une couche-barrière sans halogène (12) et au moins une couche-pellicule thermo-scellable. La couche-pellicule thermo-scellable comprend soit du polyuréthane thermoplastique, un copolymère sensiblement linéaire d'éthylène et une alpha -oléfine ayant une densité de l'ordre de 0,87 à 0,92 gm/cc et de 0,01 à 3 branches à chaîne longue/1000 atomes de carbone le long de l'ossature polymère, une résine de polyoléfine linéaire ramifiée de manière homogène, soit un mélange d'une résine de polyoléfines de densité ultra-faible avec un copolymère d'éthylène et d'acétate de vinyle.
