A multilayer shrink film and methods of making same comprising high speed polyethylenic outer layers along with one or more cyclic-olefin copolymer (COC) containing inner layers. The multilayer shrink films of the invention are produced using film biaxial orienting means, have haze values of 5 or less and Young~s modulus of 50,000 psi or greater and superior hot slip properties. In order to achieve the desired modulus, films of the present invention comprise from 10% to 30% COC and from 2% to 25% softening olefin copolymer. Preferably the film comprises large proportion of linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE). Suitable COCs for use in the invention are limited to single site catalyzed COC.
L'invention a trait à un film rétrécissable multicouche et à des procédés de fabrication de ce dernier, lequel comprend des couches externes de polyéthylène haut débit, associées à une ou plusieurs couches internes contenant un copolymère d'oléfines cycliques (COC). Les films rétrécissables multicouches selon l'invention sont produits à l'aide de moyens d'orientation biaxiale de films, présentent un coefficient de transmission inférieur ou égal à 5 et un module d'élasticité supérieur ou égal à 50 000 psi, ainsi que des propriétés de glissant à chaud améliorées. Afin que l'on obtienne le module désiré, les films selon l'invention contiennent de 10 à 30 % de COC et de 2 à 25 % d'un copolymère d'oléfines plastifiant. Le film selon l'invention contient de préférence une grande proportion de polyéthylène basse densité (LLDPE). Les COC pouvant être utilisés dans le cadre de l'invention sont limités aux COC à catalyse à site unique.
