Abstract In a method for printing a textile fabric both with a color imprint and with a metallization, first the metallizing is applied - at least area-wise - and is then overprinted wholly or partially with the color printing by the thermal transfer process. This results in interesting new aesthetic effects. The effect of the color printing is modified by the metallization beneath it. Natural fiber fabrics can also be printed by this method. -6-
