ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A multilobed polyester filament for texturing wherein the filament cross-section deforms less than commercial yarns having typical elongations of 70 - 140° elongation, and dyes more deeply than commercial yarns having elongations below 50%, during texturing, produced by melt spinning at a sufficient spinning stress to produce an elongation less than 62%, a crystallite volume of at least 3 X 105 cubic angstroms and an average crystalline lateral dimension of at least 50 angstroms.
