The invention relates to a multimedia subscriber system in which a service provider provides several subscribers with multimedia data, and in which a unit encompassing at least one storage medium is allocated to the subscribers, wherein the service provider transmits new multimedia data to the units of the subscribers continuously or at predetermined intervals, wherein the multimedia data to be newly stored replace the data previously stored in the storage medium, at least in part.
