Methods and apparatus for classifying tissue use features of Raman spectra and background fluorescent spectra. The spectra may be acquired in the near- infrared wavelengths. Principal component analysis and linear discriminant analysis of reference spectra may be used to obtain a classification function that accepts features of the Raman and background fluorescence spectra for test tissue and yields an indication as to the likelihood that the test tissue is abnormal. The methods and apparatus may be applied to screening for skin cancers or other diseases.
L'invention concerne des procédés et des appareils permettant de classifier un tissu et mettant en oeuvre des caractéristiques des spectres Raman et fluorescents de fond. Les spectres peuvent être acquis dans des longueurs d'ondes proche infrarouge. Une analyse des composants principaux et une analyse des discriminants linéaires des spectres de référence peuvent être utilisées pour obtenir une fonction de classification acceptant des caractéristiques des spectres Raman et de fluorescence de fond pour un tissu test et produisant une indication relative à la vraisemblance selon laquelle le tissu test est anormal. Les procédés et appareils peuvent être appliqués au criblage des cancers de la peau ou d'autres maladies.
