A polyethylene molding composition having a multimodal molecular mass distribution and comprising from 45 to 55 % by weight of a low molecular weight ethylene homopolymer A, from 20 to 40 % by weight of a high molecular weight copolymer B comprising ethylene and another olefin having from 4 to 8 carbon atoms and from 15 to 30 % by weight of an ultrahigh molecular weight ethylene copolymer C can be prepared in the presence of a Ziegler catalyst in a three-stage process and is highly suitable for producing pipes having excellent mechanical properties.
L'invention concerne une composition de moulage de polyéthylène présentant une distribution de masse moléculaire multimodale et comprenant 45 à 55 % en poids d'un homopolymère d'éthylène A de faible poids moléculaire, 20 à 40 % en poids d'un copolymère B de poids moléculaire élevé comprenant de l'éthylène et une autre oléfine présentant 4 à 8 atomes de carbone, et 15 à 30 % en poids d'un copolymère d'éthylène C de poids moléculaire ultra-élevé pouvant être préparé en présence d'un catalyseur de Ziegler, dans un procédé présentant trois étapes. La composition de l'invention est particulièrement appropriée pour produire des conduits présentant d'excellentes propriétés mécaniques.
