A surgical clip applier includes a train of clips disposed in a plane with a single clip removed from the train of clips and disposed in a staging position. A pair of jaws receives the single clip from the staging position by operation of a jaw loader moveable outside the plane of clips. In an associated method, a handle assembly is moveable in an open stroke and a closed stroke. Surgical clips are provided along with a pair of jaws, which are adapted to receive one of the clips in the open stroke. Following opening of the jaws, a jaw loader extends to a position between the jaws to move the clip into the jaws. The handle assembly moves in a closed stroke to close the jaws and crimp the clip. Before the closing of the jaws, the jaw loader is retracted from between the jaws.
L'invention concerne un applicateur d'agrafes chirurgicales, qui comprend un train d'agrafes disposé sur un plan, une agrafe unique étant détachée du train d'agrafes et placée en position d'utilisation. Une paire de mâchoires est adaptée pour recevoir l'agrafe unique à partir de la position d'utilisation, par actionnement d'un chargeur de mâchoire pouvant être déplacée hors du plan du train d'agrafes. Selon un procédé associé, l'applicateur d'agrafes comporte un ensemble poignée qui peut être ouvert par poussée ou fermé par poussée. L'applicateur comprend une source d'agrafes chirurgicales associée à une paire de mâchoires adaptée pour s'ouvrir et recevoir une agrafe lorsque l'ensemble poignée est ouvert par poussée. Après l'ouverture des mâchoires, un chargeur de mâchoire se déploie pour occuper une position entre les mâchoires et pousser l'agrafe à l'intérieur des mâchoires. L'ensemble poignée peut être fermé par poussée afin que les mâchoires se referment et serrent l'agrafe. Préalablement à la fermeture des mâchoires, le chargeur de mâchoire se rétracte de sa position entre les mâchoires pour y laisser l'agrafe.
