A roll of web (10) and a method of making it has a total web width (W) that is divided into n+1 portions (W1, W2) by n circumferential slits. Each portion has a width less than the total web width such that the sum of the width of the portions equals the total web width and such that each portion can be individually used as an independent roll of web. The portions are held together such as by a core (12) or an unslit portion of the web at innermost wraps of web.

L'invention concerne un rouleau de ruban-cache (10) ainsi qu'un procédé de fabrication d'un tel rouleau. Ce rouleau possède une largeur totale W qui est divisée en n+1 sections, W¿1?, W¿2?, ...W¿n+1? par n fentes circonférentielles. Chaque section possède une largeur inférieure à la largeur totale du ruban et la somme des largeurs des différentes sections est égale à la largeur totale de la bande. Chacune de ces sections peut être utilisée individuellement comme un rouleau de ruban-cache indépendant. Lesdites sections peuvent être assemblées au moyen d'un mandrin (12) ou d'une partie non fendue du ruban-cache située au niveau de l'enroulement le plus interne du ruban.
