ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The recovery of alcohol from fermentation liquors is accomplished by the evaporation of the liquor feed and simultaneous rectification of the volatile component. Evaporation of the liquor feed can be accomplished by a single flash evaporation or multiple effect evaporation combined with the flash evaporation in which the flash evaporator is one effect of the multiple effect evaporator. A concentrated alcohol component is recovered along with a concentrated residue useful as a fertilizer or animal feed supplement.
