A fiber bed mist eliminator system is disclosed that includes a collector vessel(12) having at least one inlet (22) and at least two outlets (38). The system further includes at least two filter housings (14) removably secured to the collector vessel, in which each filter housing has an inlet (48) and outlet (38). Each filter housing includes a fiber bed mist eliminator. A valve (76) may optionally be provided between at least one filter housing and the collector vessel. Each fiber bed includes an inner surface (52) defining a first closed space (50) and an outer surface (53) defining a second space (56). The first closed space is optionally in communication with the collector vessel outlet (86) or the filter housing outlet (38). This system is used in the separation of aerosols from gas streams.
