Abstract An acoustic surface wave signal processor comprises a substrate for propagating acoustic waves at a surface thereof. A first transducer launches an acoustic wave along a first propagation track at this surface. First and second spaced apart reflectors disposed at opposed ends of the first propagation track define a first resonator. A second transducer receives an acoustic wave along a second propagation track at the surface. Third and fourth spaced apart reflectors disposed at opposed ends of the second propagation track define a second resonator. Fifth and sixth reflectors respectively cooperating with the first and second resonators form a third propagation track along the surface intersecting the first and second propagation tracks whereby acoustic wave energy is coupled between the first, second, and third propagation tracks. Seventh and eighth spaced apart reflectors at opposed ends of the third propagation track define a third resonator. This arrangement provides an improved technique for forming surface wave resonators on temperature stable media, hence aiding the construction of multi-pole filters with improved frequency response.
