ABSTRACT A multiple-purpose lighting apparatus comprises a stand and a flashlight type lighting unit separably placed on the stand. On the front of the stand are a night light and a power switch while, on the top is a recess having an accommodation for the lighting unit to form a desk lamp. The lighting unit has an illuminating lamp and a night light that use dry cells as a power source when the lighting unit is separated from the stand and used alone. Consequently, the lighting unit becomes a flashlight easy for carrying. A pivoting shaft that enables the head portion of the lighting unit to perform a near 90 degree bending for an optimal light projecting is arranged at a proper position on the lighting unit. Such an arrangement is a considerate and easy-to-use multiple-purpose lighting apparatus.
