A method wherein the light in a sulfur or selenium lamp is reflected through the fill a multiplicity of times to convert ultraviolet radiation to visible. A light emitting device comprised of an electrodeless envelope which bears a light reflecting covering around a first portion which does not crack due to differential thermal expansion and which has a second portion which comprises a light transmissive aperture.

Procédé dans lequel la lumière d'une lampe au soufre ou au sélénium est réfléchie de très nombreuses fois à travers la substance de remplissage afin de convertir le rayonnement ultraviolet en rayonnement visible. Un dispositif émetteur de lumière se compose d'un enveloppe dépourvue d'électrode dont une première partie est recouverte d'un revêtement réfléchissant la lumière, qui résiste à la dilatation thermique différentielle, et dont une seconde partie présente une ouverture pour la transmission de la lumière.
