ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A winch is provided with a first and a second drum which are arranged to be selectively operable by a pair of pawl means. The winch may be readily converted between double and quadruple rigging. The double or quadruple rigging may be utilized with the operation of either drum or with both drums simultaneously. The winch may be utilized for raising loads or for controlled lowering of loads.
