MULTIPLE STAGE GAS ABSORBER ABSTRACT Apparatus for and method of absorbing gas into a liquid. This invention is particularly concerned with an apparatus for and method of reintroducing gas effluent into a fresh liquid utilizing a plurality of absorption compartments. Fresh liquid is introduced into each compartment and fresh gas is introduced into the first of said compartments. Absorbed gas and liquid are removed from the compartments and non-absorbed gas is moved from one compartment to a subsequent compartment. Non-absorbed gas is removed from the last of said compartments and gas-saturated liquid is removed from the apparatus.
