A multiplier circuit has a smaller circuit size and operates at a higher speed. An addition processing part (31b) to which a partial product group 6 is inputted comprises at its first stage half adders (7a) and 7c) and a rounding half adder (13). The addition processing part (31b) further comprises full adders (8a), (8b) and (8c) at its second stage, full adders (8d), (8e) and (8f) at its third stage, and a 3-bit carry look ahead adder (9) at its fourth stage A value outputted from the rounding half adder 13 is a sum of two inputs given thereto and a value 1. A rounding circuit for calculating a round number is therefore not necessary

L'invention est un circuit multiplicateur dont la taille a été réduite et qui fonctionne à plus grande vitesse. Il comporte une partie de traitement d'additions (31b) à laquelle un groupe de produits partiels (6) est connecté et qui est constituée d'un premier étage de demi-additionneurs (7a) et (7c) et d'un demi-additionneur à arrondissement (13). La partie de traitement d'addition (31b) comprend en plus des additionneurs complets (8a), (8b) et (8c) comme second étage, d'autres additionneurs complets (8d), (8c) et (8f) comme troisième étage, et un additionneur à anticipation avec report 3 bits (9) comme quatrième étage. La valeur de sortie du demi-additionneur à arrondissement (13) est la somme des deux valeurs qui y sont introduites et de la valeur 1. Il n'est donc pas nécessaire d'utiliser un circuit à arrondissement pour calculer un arrondi.
