An isolated population of mammalian neurohypophysis cells comprising multipotent cells has been identified. O-2A progenitor cells are described which are able to differentiate into at least oligodendrocytes and/or type II astocytes and/or neurons. The invention includes also methods for isolating, culturing, transplanting such cellular population, and their use as a medicament for a neural disorder or a neural disease.
L'invention concerne l'identification d'une population isolée de cellules neurohypophysaires mammaliennes comprenant des cellules pluripotentes. On décrit des cellules souches O-2A qui peuvent se différencier en, au moins, oligodendrocytes et/ou astocytes de type II et/ou neurones. L'invention concerne en outre des méthodes d'isolement, de culture, de transplantation de ladite population cellulaire, et son utilisation comme médicament pour soigner un trouble neural ou une maladie neurale.
