A novel tube material, and method of forming the tube, are described. The tube has an inner liner (1), preferably flexible, an intermediate layer of in situ moulded expanding foam material (2), and a flexible outer line (3). The tube is rigid, with the structural strength derived entirely from the intermediate layer. The preferred method of construction uses an inner core (4), which is used to hold the inner liner in place during forming. The inner core (4) includes a mechanism to reduce its diameter, to facilitate removal after curing of the foam.

L'invention concerne un nouveau matériau en forme de tube et un procédé de façonnage de tube. Ce tube présente une garniture intérieure (1), de préférence flexible, une couche intermédiaire de mousse expansible (2) moulée in situ, et une garniture extérieure flexible (2). Le tube est rigide, sa résistance structurale provenant entièrement de la couche intermédiaire. Selon le mode de réalisation préféré de l'invention, le tube comprend une partie centrale intérieure (4) servant à maintenir en place la garniture intérieure pendant le façonnage. Cette partie centrale intérieure (4) comprend un mécanisme servant à réduire son diamètre et ainsi à faciliter son retrait après durcissement de la mousse.
