ABSTRACT There is provided an evaporation installation with a system for recirculating and re-using heat. The heat available in the exhaust vapour is partly transformed into useful heat at a higher temperature, without requiring any significant use of more expensive process steam. The recaptured heat is directed back to the evaporation process itself or to some other process. More particularly, the exhaust vapour from the installation is led directly to an absorber which containers a multi- component mixture that absorbs the vapour completely in an exothermic manner. In a preferred embodiment, the heat of absorption thus generated is utilized to produce process steam, which is directed back to one or more of the evaporation stages of the installation itself, or to another process.
