ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A vibratory finishing machine for the surface finishing of workpieces comprising an essentially spiral trough, having a plurality of channels in side-by-side relation- ship, resiliently mounted for vibration and tilted with respect to the horizontal; such a spiral trough which is employed as a finishing chamber by attachment to a resiliently mounted vibratory structure of a vibratory and apparatus finishing machine; and a method/for vibratorily finishing a workpiece by subjecting it to a surface finishing medium in such a trough, having liquid finishing medium in only lower sections thereof and having solid finishing medium in an outer channel of said trough, are disclosed.
