MUSE, a programmable multistream encrytion system for secure communication provides dynamic cryptographic security and a highly efficient surveillance mechanism for transferring very large blocks of data (VLBD) subject to real-time constraints. En- cryption varies pseudorandomly in both space and Lime. MUSE allows the user to specify a finite state machine (21) which se- quentially accepts parallel streams of data (VLBD) and encrypts this data in real time employing an arithmetic-algebraic pseudo- random array generator (41) (PRAG). The method of enciphering is a one-time algebraic pad system which views the incoming data streams as elements from an algebraic alphabet (finite ring) and encrypts by adding to this a pseudorandom vector sequence (21) iteratively generated from a single seed key (20). Decipherment is obtained by reversing this process.

Un système de codage multi-flux programmable (MUSE) permettant des communications sûres fournit une sécurité cryptographique dynamique et possède un mécanisme de surveillance extrêmement efficace pour le transfert de blocs très importants de données (VLBD) soumis aux contraintes de temps réel. Le codage varie de manière pseudo-aléatoire tant dans l'espace que dans le temps. Le MUSE permet à l'utilisateur de spécifier un automate d'états finis (21) qui accepte séquentiellement des flux parallèles de données (VLBD) et code ces données en temps réel en employant un générateur (41) d'ensemble pseudo-aléatoire arithmétique-algébrique (PRAG). Le procédé de codage est un système à réseau atténuateur algébrique initial qui visionne les flux de données entrantes comme des élément d'un alphabet algébrique (cercle fini) et effectue un codage en y ajoutant une séquence vectorielle pseudo-aléatoire (21) générée itérativement à partir d'une seule clé (20) de valeur de départ. Le décodage est obtenu par le procédé inverse.
