A computer implemented method for displaying multivariate data. Display values are plotted on respective axes which run radially in a predetermined direction from a common centre point. The display values are computed from sample values by performing a mapping and normalization function. Display values which are plotted outside a defined normalization circle represent error conditions while display values which are plotted inside the normalization circle represent acceptable conditions. Colour may be used to enhance the information content of the display. An operator may infer the state of the system simply by observing the shape of the display.
L'invention est une méthode d'affichage de données multivariable assisté par ordinateur. Les valeurs affichées sont positionnées par rapport à des axes individuels orientés radialement dans une direction prédéterminée à partir d'un centre commun. Les valeurs affichées sont calculées à partir de valeurs échantillons au moyen d'une fonction de mise en correspondance et de normalisation. Les valeurs qui sont affichées à l'extérieur d'un cercle de normalisation défini correspondent à des conditions d'erreur, alors que les valeurs affichées à l'intérieur de ce cercle de normalisation correspondent à des conditions acceptables. On peut utiliser des couleurs pour accroître le contenu informationnel de l'affichage. Un opérateur peut prendre connaissance de l'état du système en examinant simplement la forme de l'affichage.
