The muscle energy converter has a piston (12) connected to a muscle by attachment head (14) and a cylinder (16) maintained in axial slidable relationship by magnets (22, 24) and rolling diaphragms (28, 30) to create a variable volume chamber which is useful for pumping blood when the muscle contracts.
