MUZZLE BRAKE ABSTRACT The end-plate (25) of a muzzle-brake is given concentric deep valleys (34) and ridges (35). Muzzle gases near the plate are retarded as to their radial expansion and therefore are able to release more of their forward momentum against the plate.
