This invention relates to a method of quantifying bacteria in vivo or in vitro using bacterial reporter strains. In particular this invention provides a method utilizing mycobacterial reporter strains that permits rapid screening for in vivo antimycobacterial activity of various compositions. In addition this invention provides for particular mycobacterial reporter strains expressing the FFlux gene at levels sufficiently high to allow detection in tissue homogenates without lysis or concentration of the bacteria.
Cette invention concerne un procédé pour quantifier des bactéries in vivo ou in vitro à l'aide de souches bactériennes reporteurs. En particulier, cette invention concerne un procédé d'utilisation de souches mycobactériennes reporteurs, qui permettent un examen préliminaire rapide de l'activité antimycobactérienne in vivo de différentes compositions. En plus, cette invention concerne des souches mycobactériennes reporteurs particulières exprimant le gène FFlux à des niveaux suffisamment élevés pour permettre sa détection dans des homogénats de tissus, sans lyse ou concentration des bactéries.
