A bio-compatible corneal ring (50) for myopic correction and accommodation for presbyopia. The corneal ring (50) is made from a bio-compatible material with a lens body having an inner (51) and outer (53) circular edge. The inner circular edge (51) forms an opening (52) in the lens body. The posterior surface of the lens body has a uniform radii of curvature between the inner (51) and outer (53) circular edges. The anterior surface has two radii of curvatures providing for correction of myopia. The first radii of curvature (55) extends from near the outer circular edge to a junction point before the inner (51) circular edge. The second radii of curvature (54) extends from the junction point and continues to the inner (51) circular edge. The inner (51) and outer (53) circular edges have a thickness of less than about 0.02 mm, but preferably are about 0.010 mm or less.
La présente invention concerne un anneau cornéen (50) biocompatible de correction myopique et d'accommodation de la presbytie. L'anneau cornéen (50) est constitué d'une matière biocompatible présentant un corps de lentille possédant un bord circulaire intérieur (51) et extérieur (53). Le bord circulaire intérieur (51) forme une ouverture (52) dans le corps de lentille. La surface postérieure du corps de lentille présente un rayon uniforme de courbure entre les bords circulaires intérieur (51) et extérieur (53). La surface antérieure présente deux rayons de courbure permettant de corriger la myopie. Le premier rayon de courbure (55) s'étend depuis un site proche du bord circulaire extérieur jusqu'à un point de jonction situé avant le bord circulaire intérieur (51). Le second rayon de courbure (54) s'étend depuis le point de jonction et continue jusqu'au bord circulaire intérieur (51). Les bords circulaires intérieur (51) et extérieur (53) ont une épaisseur inférieure à environ 0,02 mm, mais sont de préférence inférieurs ou égaux à environ 0,010 mm.
