A B S T R A C T There is disclosed new substituted N-(1-benzyl- pyrrolidinyl-2-alkyl)benzamides of the formula: Image in which A represents a hydrogen atom, a C1-5 alkyl group or a C2-5 alkenyl group; X represents a hydrogen atom, a C1-5 alkoxy group, a C1-5 alkyl group, a C2-5 alkenyloxy group or a C2-5 alkenyl group; Y represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a C1-5 alkyl, C1-5 alkoxy, amino or amino substituted group selected from alkylamino, acylamlno, benzylamino, alkoxy- carbonylamino; Z represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a C1-5 alkoxy group, a C1-5 alkylsulfonyl group, a SO2NR1R2 group in which R1 and R2 which can be identical or different are hydrogen or a lower C1-5 alkyl group, or together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached form a heterocycle, possibly containing another heteroatom; W represents an alkylene group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms which can form a straight or branched chain, and m represents an integer of 1, 2 or 3. The compounds are useful as anti-emetics, anti- ulcer agents and as agents for modifying the central nervous system.
